The Founder's Journey

Amicus Legal WI TX was founded by Senior Litigation Paralegal Betty Fernandez, an industry veteran who has worked with premier law firms in both Milwaukee, WI and San Antonio, TX.

With over 30 years plus of experience as a paralegal spanning in personal injury with complex litigation, motor vehicle accidents (from car crashes to semi-truck accidents), dog bites, slip and fall accidents, nursing home injuries/deaths, complex medical malpractice litigation, immigration practice, bilingual (Spanish) paralegal with the Milwaukee County Child Support's Office, and human resources, Betty brings a rare insider perspective to legal talent acquisition.

She holds a Master’s in Human Resources, a Bachelor’s in Paralegal Studies, and an Associate's degree in Legal Secretary/Legal Office Administration, and is currently tracking toward her SHRM professional certification in January 2027. Having built her career from the ground up—starting as a legal secretary and receptionist before advancing into a high-stakes personal injury litigation paralegal role—Betty uniquely understands the exact skills required for every position within a firm. By blending deep legal expertise with HR strategy, she expertly recruits top-tier talent tailored to meet your unique demands.

A bilingual professional with full professional proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish. Proven experience delivering accurate, bidirectional translations for legal and governmental organizations.

With a comprehensive background in legal support, litigation management, and recruitment, the founder established Amicus Legal WI TX to solve critical workflow challenges for law practices. Serving both Wisconsin and Texas jurisdictions, Amicus' mission is to ensure clients have access  to exceptional talented legal staff, paralegal services and diligent administrative solutions.

While the paralegal litigation experience is rooted in Wisconsin and Texas, recruitment capabilities extend nationwide and in diverse legal practices.

Betty is a dedicated to empowering the Hispanic community by helping people navigate the legal system and connecting them with essential legal resources. While she does not provide direct legal advice, she maintains an extensive network of trusted attorneys in Wisconsin and Texas and can provide referrals tailored to your specific legal needs.
